Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Issues Curfew for St. George Island


The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department has issued a Hurricane Hermine related curfew for all of St. George Island starting at 9:00 p.m., this evening. All occupants of the Island must remain inside their homes and not traveling upon the streets and roads of the Island until the curfew is lifted by officials at the Sheriff’s Office.

Duke Energy has made the decision to keep power on for St. George Island residents due to the bridge closure and the fact that residents of the Island cannot depart their homes.

Bridge closures: St George Island
Road closures: South Bayshore in Eastpoint

Franklin County Emergency Management Operations Center will remain at a level 1 active.
