On
Friday, Florida Gov. Rick Scott directed the flags of the United States of
America and the Great State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local
and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout Florida, from
sunrise to sunset, on Monday, December 7, 2015.
In
honor and remembrance of the courage, selfless dedication and sacrifice
displayed by the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces during
the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor by Naval Forces of the Japanese
Empire, which led America's entry into World War II.
"This
74th anniversary [of Pearl Harbor] marks a time for community, individuals, and
organizations to gather across our Country and throughout the State of Florida
to perform acts of charity, to pray, and to support one another as we honor and
remember those who lost their lives on December 7, 1941", wrote Scott in a
resolution dated December 4, 2015.
