Child attacked by black bear in Eastpoint

A female child is reported to have been attacked by a black bear this evening in Eastpoint in the vicinity of the Big Top Supermarket at 357 U.S. 98.

Reports have it the child sustained trauma to the head during the attack and has been transported to Bay Medical Center by medical personnel for treatment.

Black bear sighting are frequent this time of year as they migrate into populated areas to forage.
