The Franklin County Supervisor of Elections Office will be open from 8:30am - 4:30pm, today thru Sunday for early voting up until November 1st for the November 4, 2014 General Election.

On the ballot of particular local interest is the question of whether to appoint or elect the next Franklin County Public School Superintendent and the proposed increase of 2% in the tourist development tax also known as the "bed tax".  Also district 2 voters over in Carrabelle will see incumbent Franklin County Commissioner Cheryl Sanders (DEM) square off against Mark Nobles (REP).

On the national level appearing on the ballot is the heated race for Florida's 2nd U.S. Congressional District, which pits incumbent Congressman Steve Southerland (REP) against challengers Gwen Graham (DEM) and Luther Lee (WRI).

In the state race for governor you'll find incumbent Governor Rick Scott (REP) facing opposition from Charlie Crist (DEM) and Adrian Wyllie (LPF); for Attorney General there’s incumbent Pam Bondi (REP) and challengers George Sheldon (DEM) and Bill Wohlsifer (LPF).  In the Chief Financial Officer race incumbent Jeff Atwater (REP) picked up opposition from Will Rankin (DEM); and in the race for Commissioner of Agriculture incumbent Adam Putnam (REP) will face off against challengers Thad Hamilton (DEM) and Jeffery Obos (WRI).

There also are a couple of statewide measures on the ballot!  Amendment 1 deals with water and land conservation and Amendment 2 is about the legalization of marijuana for debilitating medical usage.

According to Assistant Supervisor of Elections Heather Riley early voting for the General Election has already exceeded the turnout for early voting during the primary election.

To avoid rushing on Election Day or running the risk of forgetting to vote altogether, VOTE EARLY, VOTE TODAY!
