The Historic Apalachicola Main Street Program has
announced plans for their quarterly Downtown Cleanup, scheduled for Saturday,
March 19, 2016.
“Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at Café Con
Leche to have coffee and develop a game plan. The cleanup will focus on the
Bowery District. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, but feel free to bring
blowers, rakes, brooms… and your enthusiasm”, wrote Augusta West, Historic
Apalachicola Main Street Executive Director in an email.
“The goal is to remove litter, clean sidewalks
and streets, and present a clean appearance for locals and spring tourists as
they enjoy downtown”.
This
is an excellent opportunity for civic minded individuals to become an active part
and a positive force to help keep the Historic City of Apalachicola attractive.
