Tropical Depression #4 Update

The newly formed Tropical Depression Four is currently located a few hundred miles West-Southwest of the Cape Verde Islands with wind speeds of 35 mph, and is moving to the West-Northwest at 19 mph. The system is forecast to continue this general motion over the next couple of days.

The system has a well defined center of low pressure at 1008mb, however the system does not have very impressive thunderstorm development associated with it and for this reason the Tropical Depression is very small in comparison to other storms seen this season.

Tropical Depression 4 is forecast to become a Tropical Storm later today or tonight, before reaching much cooler waters that are far less conducive for further development.

The National Hurricane Center has the system still at Tropical Storm strength by Monday morning just Northwest of the Windward Islands.

While Tropical Depression 4 is very far out and has a long way to travel, all eyes should stay focused on the tropics to see how this system develops over the next few days.
