According to a release just issued by the National Weather Service out of Tallahassee through Pam Brownell, Franklin County Emergency Management Director.
  • Widespread heavy rain is expected over the next couple of days. Average amounts as high as 7” will be possible, especially across the Florida Panhandle.
  • In heavy bands of rain, nearly double the predicted amounts will be possible in isolated locations.
  • Southern Leon/Wakulla/western Jefferson county region will be more susceptible to flash flooding today due to heavy rainfall overnight.
  • A low-end severe weather potential exists with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes possible.
  • Surf conditions will be life threatening for anyone entering the Panhandle waters today due to a high risk for rip currents.
