In celebration of Black History Month the Apalachicola History, Culture, & Arts Committee will be hosting a free Jazz Concert on February 13, 2011 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the Apalachicola Center for History, Culture & Art (formerly the Cotton Warehouse) located at the corner of Water Street and Avenue E.
The concert will feature Dr. Hulon Crayton. Dr. Crayton is a smooth jazz saxophonist hailing from Panama City, FL who started his jazz career as a member of the noted jazz group On Call.
He released his debut album - “First Impressions” - via Premier Musique Group in February 2010. The album peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Chart in April 2010 and No. 4 on SmoothIndieStar.com.
By day, the 54-year-old jazz musician is a Panama City rheumatologist, treating patients for arthritis, osteoporosis, and related disorders. Outside his medical practice, he’s becoming the next Miles Davis.
