Franklin County Awaits FEMA Declaration

Officials at Franklin County Emergency Management has reported calling over 50 residents that reported storm damage due to Hurricane Hermine to advise them to call FEMA directly. Other counties were declared for Individual Assistance (IA), but not Franklin County.

If you had damage, please call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 to file your claim. You can also go online and fill out an application at https://www.disasterassistance.gov.

Franklin County has not been declared for Individual Assistance yet, but FEMA is accepting claims. Be aware this does not guarantee Individual Assistance will be given, however this allow FEMA to record the demographics and needs of the citizens of Franklin County.  If the number is great enough it may allow Franklin to be added on the current Declaration for Individual Assistance.

For more information concerning this matter, please contact Tress Dameron, Franklin County Emergency Management Coordinator at either (850)653-8977 or via email at Em2frank@fairpoint.net.
