Help Wanted: United Way Campaign Associate for Franklin County


UNITED WAY OF THE BIG BEND
POSITION DESCRIPTION
CAMPAIGN ASSOCIATE/FRANKLIN COUNTY
   
Reports To:
Vice President Resource Development

General Description/Overall Responsibility
Work with existing accounts in Franklin County and other areas of United Way areas when necessary.  Assist with the supervision of volunteers.  Assigned areas of the Campaign include raising funds in Franklin County, planning strategies with volunteers, providing deadlines, following up on account calls, and offering assistance to volunteers and recruiting new business and individual prospects

Essential Duties/Key Areas of Responsibility
Organization
Planning and organizing special campaign events
Planning, organizing and hosting agency tours for volunteers and prospective donors
Planning, organizing and working volunteer projects in neighboring counties
Delivering and collecting campaign materials

Volunteer Management
Recruiting volunteers to work on the campaign in Franklin County
Assist with training volunteers
Reviewing progress with volunteers in preparation for report meetings

Communications and Data Analysis
Printing campaign reports and reviewing progress for volunteers and report meetings
Preparing presentations with reports, graphs, and graphics
Giving presentations to employees, groups, and employers
Compose letters to investors for the purpose of solicitation and appreciation

Relationship Building
Attend Chamber of Commerce functions to increase United Way visibility in neighboring counties such as Luncheons, Ribbon Cuttings, After-Hours Networking
Ensure United Way presence at Community-Wide festivals and events through attendance and sponsorship opportunities.

Knowledge and Skills Required
College degree in areas similar to Communications, Marketing, Business, or Public Relations Sales experience a plus
Valid driver’s license required
Great communications skills that include relationship development, speaking, writing, and persuasion Proficiency in Word and Excel;

Terms of Employment
September 1st –November 30th                                                                          

4-5 hours per week
Will need to attend two events in August (August 20th 8:30-11:00 a.m. employee campaign coordinator training and August 27th 11:45-1:15 United Way campaign kickoff lunch)         
Deliverables will be set each month depending on campaign needs
