Public forum scheduled to answer questions about oil spill recovery and restoration

BP will be hosting a public information forum next week in Apalachicola as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to keep local residents informed about their recovery and restoration efforts in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Topics to be discussed include shoreline clean up, monitoring, maintenance, and subsurface assessment. The forum will also address what testing has been done to ensure seafood quality, what are the results, who performed the tests and future plans for testing. In addition, the forum will focus on what impact the oil spill has had on Florida’s wildlife, updates on animal rescues and future projects.

Representatives from BP, the United States Coast Guard, the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Fish & Wildlife, GCIMT - Environmental Advisors, and the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Protection have been invited to attend and participate in the forum.

The forum is scheduled for 6:00PM EST on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Franklin County Court House Annex - 34 Forbes Street - Apalachicola, FL 32320 and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
