Marginal risk of severe thunderstorms today

There’s a "marginal" risk (5% chance within 25 miles of a point) of severe thunderstorms later today in the darker green region of the map depicted above. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, however, the main threat, though slight, is penny to half-dollar size hail and/or wind gusts from 40 to 80 MPH, as well as frequent lightning. Because of the expected limited area coverage and marginal nature of this threat, any impacts will be localized. The threat will likely end by sunset.
