Long time city employee Marvin Croom retires

At a luncheon held today at the Battery Park Community Center Apalachicola city officials, staff, members of the community and family members said goodbye to long time city employee Marvin Croom.

Today Croom completed a 39-year career working in the City of Apalachicola Street Department where he joined in 1975 as a laborer on the trash crew. After just 9 years on the job he was appointed superintendent over the street department, a position he held up until his retirement.

Croom 39-years on the job make him officially the longest serving city employee on record.
