Historic Apalachicola Bowery Building to be featured tonight on WFSU-TV

The restoration and history of the old Economy Cash Department Store located in the Bowery section of downtown Apalachicola will be featured in a presentation to be aired tonight March 5, 2014, at 7:30PM on WFSU-TV.

The store which served the Apalachicola community for many years before the advent of shopping malls used to be owned and operated by the Nichols family as a dry good store among many other things.

At the behest of Apalachicola resident George Coon, WFSU-TV agreed to feature in a segment on their popular show "Dimension" the restoration work being personally performed on the building by new owner Mel Livingston also of Apalachicola.

Livingston tapped into the City of Apalachicola's Revolving Loan Fund for $100,000, which is designed to create jobs to help fund the restoration project.
