Today is Small Business Saturday throughout the country, including the City of Apalachicola via Mayoral Proclamation issued November 20, 2012, (Click to read Proclamation). It's a day dedicated to supporting the small businesses that anchor the Apalachicola community and strengthen our local economy. You can show your support today by shopping locally.
Also, if you're a small business owner with an amazing success story to tell, you can submit your nomination today for the 2014 National Small Business Week Awards. Nominations are currently being accepted online at http://nationalsmallbusinessweek.sba.gov/.
In addition to the portal, nominations can also be sent directly to SBA District Offices, which can be located online at district offices. All nominations must be submitted online, postmarked or hand delivered to the SBA no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on January 17, 2014.
