The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Circuit II, Juvenile Justice Board will be holding its quarterly public meeting in Historic Apalachicola from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Wednesday, Nov 17, 2010, inside the conference room at Water Street Hotel and Marina located at 329 Water Street.
Agenda items include remarks from Board Chair Donnie Read, and updates from the Office of Prevention and Victim Services along with reports on Probation, Community Corrections, Residential, and Detention.
The Florida Legislature authorized juvenile justice councils at the county level and established circuit juvenile justice boards. Each county council appoints representatives to serve on the circuit board. The county councils and circuit boards serve as advisors to the Department of Juvenile Justice. Members of the boards and councils work closely with Delinquency Prevention Specialist and the Community Partnership Coordinators to plan for services that meet the identified needs of juveniles and families within the local community.
Boards and councils primarily focus on juvenile delinquency prevention programs and services such as mentoring, teen courts, neighborhood accountability boards, partnership programs, after-school programs, and public forums.
All meetings of the Circuit II, Juvenile Justice Board and its committees are open and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
