The local observance of the
Annual National Day of Prayer will take place in Apalachicola on Thursday, May
5, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., at the Historic Holy Family Senior/Community Center at
203 Dr. Frederick S. Humphries Street.
On this day tens of
thousands of people across America will stop what they are doing and attend a
prayer service in response to the call upon our nation to pray on this 65th Annual
National Day of Prayer.
The theme selected by
the National Day of Prayer Task Force for this year’s event is, "Wake Up
America." The goal of the Annual National Day of Prayer is to bring
communities together to pray for our government, the education community, the
military, the media, business/industry, the church, and our youth and families.
The local observance is
sponsored by the Love Center Inc., Outreach Ministries in Apalachicola. The event is free and the public is invited
and encouraged to attend.
