Veterans’ Business Outreach Center to teach Enrichment Classes

The Apalachicola Board of City Commissioners paved the way at their March 8, regular meeting for the Veterans’ Business Outreach Center at Gulf Coast State College to conduct enrichment classes for both veterans and non-veterans in Apalachicola.

The matter was brought before the commission for consideration by City Administrator Lee Mathes under her monthly report and unanimously approved by the board.

Mathes reported that Quen Lamb, Business Consultant with the Veterans’ Business Outreach Center was seeking approval for use of the Battery Park Community Center, at no cost, to teach enrichment classes beneficial to both veterans and non-veterans in the community and the commission agreed.

The enrichment classes to be taught include basic computer, chair yoga and ukulele on the following dates and time:

March 24, 2016 - 5:15pm to 8:45pm
March 31, 2016 - 5:15pm to 8:45pm
April 7, 2016 - 5:15pm to 8:45 pm
April 14, 2016 - 5:15pm to 8:45 pm

The mission of the Veterans' Business Outreach Center is to help create, develop, and retain veteran-owned small business enterprises. To which, the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce have been an integral component, collaborating with Gulf Coast State College to bring these types of classes and programs to our community.
