Work Begins on Downtown Public Restrooms

Local contractor Poloronis Construction broke ground today on the long anticipated public restroom facility to be constructed in downtown Apalachicola directly behind the City of Apalachicola Center for History, Culture and Art’s building.

As the lowest bidder to submit a proposal to construct the project, Poloronis was awarded a $300K contract to build the restrooms by the Apalachicola Board of City Commissioners at the regular scheduled January 8, 2013, meeting.

The project is funded though the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and is part of the city's overall redevelopment strategy.
