Nelson Asks for Review of Oil Spill Claims

In light of last week’s court decision in Louisiana in which a judge ruled that the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) administered by attorney Ken Feinberg is not independent of BP, Senator Nelson wrote a letter to President Obama asking for a review of all administrative operations of the claims fund. There has been a lack of transparency and accountability surrounding the processing of claims of loss due to the Gulf oil spill by the GCCF. An administrative review of the GCCF would provide oversight to the process and ensure that funds are being disbursed appropriately.
