Apalachicola
Mayor Van Johnson will preside over the City’s Annual Arbor Day Celebration to
be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016, under the pavilion at
City Square Community Garden located on the corner of 8th Street and
Avenue F.
The
City’s Annual Arbor Day Celebration is part of the Tree City USA program, which
was founded in 1972, in Nebraska by John Rosenow and has since become the largest
membership organization in the U.S. dedicated to planting trees.
The
public is invited to join Mayor Johnson along with city staff in observing Arbor Day in Apalachicola.
