Here are some spectacular photos highlighting the 2016 Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam held today
at beautiful Battery Park & Marina in Historic Apalachicola. In its third year, the Paddle Jam is a
festival celebrating the Forgotten Coast through paddle sports, music &
food. The event is also an attempt to
set a new Guinness Book World Record for the largest floating gathering of
kayaks. The current record was set by
One Square Mile of Hope (USA) in Inlet, New York, USA, on September 13, 2014
when 3150 kayaks and canoes rafted up together.
Proceeds from the event
go toward helping “at risk” children, youth, and families in need through the
Outreach Ministries of the Apalachicola United Methodist Church.
