March 8, 2016 Apalachicola City Commission Meeting |
Gladys Gatlin, a life-long resident of Apalachicola
was recognized at the Apalachicola Board of City Commissioners March 8, meeting
for her work as a volunteer at the Holy Family Senior Citizen Center.
Gatlin had missed the awards ceremony hosted by
the Area Agency on Aging for North Florida held during the latter part of 2015,
where the award was to be presented.
Harriet Beach, of Lanark Village accepted the
award on Gatlin’s behalf and asked the City Commission to make a public presentation
of the award to Gatlin. The city commission was honored to accommodate the
request.
Since the Senior Center went on line in 2012,
Gatlin has unselfishly volunteered her time working with the seniors and
watching over the facility. She’s to be commended for her personal sacrifice, for
her actions, not her words in making Apalachicola a better place to live for all
its citizens.
Thank you Ms. Gladys!
