The City of
Apalachicola will be on the June 8, 2015 meeting agenda of its Planning & Zoning
Commission requesting a special exception to construct a new 3,500 ft. municipal
library facility at the Northwest corner of 12th and U.S. Hwy 98 adjacent to
the Historic Chapman School building.
As the applicant the
city must make the request for a special exception because the property is located
in an R-1 single family residential zoned district and the proposed library
will be a public facility. However, the city’s land development code does allow
for such use if a special exception approval is granted.
The meeting will be
held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Battery Park Community Center located
at 1 Bay Ave in Apalachicola.
