The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (ANERR) will host an evening lecture, Shifting Sands: The Geological History of Franklin County’s Barrier Islands, on Thursday, January 22, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Geologist Jim Mott will show what he has learned from studying decades of historic maps. The lecture will be held at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, 108 Island Drive, Eastpoint, Florida. (850)670-7700. It is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
