Record attendance at 50th Florida Seafood Festival

According to preliminary numbers coming from the Florida Seafood Festival Board of Directors the 50th Annual Festival may have set a new record for attendance.

As early as Wednesday, October 30th crowds of visitors began to swell the streets of downtown Apalachicola in what was anticipated to be a banner year for attendance at the annual festival, especially with the signing of Kellie Pickler to headline the entertainment.

"The attendance at this year's festival was over 31,000 closer to 32,000 and by the time we adjust for ticket sales and the vendors that were set up in the park... the number maybe more", said John Solomon, President of the Florida Seafood Festival Board of Directors.

By most accounts the 50th Annual Florida Seafood Festival will go down in the annals of local history as the best and larges so far.
