Local Artist Susan L. Richardson gains notoriety

The artwork of Susan L. Richardson, a native of London, England and a current resident of the City of Apalachicola continues to gain the local artist notoriety throughout the region, including areas of Georgia.

To date, Richardson’s work has won several awards and has been on display in art galleries here at home and in juried shows throughout parts of Georgia and Florida.  In such places like the Elliott Museum in Stuart Florida, the Turner Center in Valdosta Georgia and Florida State University's Museum of Fine Arts in Tallahassee.

Richardson’s love of painting was nurtured back in London where at a very young age she learned the art under the tutelage of her parents.  Her father was a member of the Royal College of Art and her mother worked as a draftsman, both instilled into Richardson a cherished love for the art.

"Bookstack"
These two paintings titled "Bookstack" were part of a silent auction on Saturday, September 6, 2013 at the FLAUNT: 25 Silent Auction at the Thomasville Center for the Arts in Thomasville, Georgia.

"Sunrise at 10' Hole"
Sunrise at the 10' Hole earned Richardson an Honorable Mention at the Annual Senior Showcase in Tallahassee.

"Lobster Trap Buoys"
Lobster Trap Buoys has been accepted in the Gadsden Arts Center Annual Exhibit on October 2013, in Quincy, Florida.

"Last Barber Shop"
Last Barber Shop was accepted for 'Figuratively Speaking' in the Atlanta Artists Center (AAC), in Atlanta, Georgia.
