Tallahassee – Senate President Don Gaetz (R-Niceville) today released the following statement of support following Governor Rick Scott's announcement that the State of Florida will file a lawsuit in the United States Supreme Court to address the State of Georgia's growing consumption of water, which is threatening the economic future of the Apalachicola Region.
"One of Florida's greatest economic and natural treasures is imperiled.
"Governor Scott has done all anyone could to resolve this issue with the State of Georgia. We don't like to sue our neighbors but their intransigence has left us no other course.
"I thank and fully support Governor Scott in his decision."
