The
designation is slated to promote cancer awareness locally and give individuals and the
community at-large an opportunity to fight back against the dreaded disease.
The
city commission and staff are encouraging all residents, businesses and
visitors to participate in 'Paint The Town Purple Days' as well as in all
activities sponsored by the local American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team.
