RiverWay South (RWS) will kick off their 5th Annual Summit at 8:00AM today, March 10 inside the City’s Center for History, Culture & Art building formerly the Cotton Exchange Warehouse located at 88 Water Street in downtown Apalachicola.
The two-day Summit runs from March 10 – March 11 and will offer an extraordinary agenda with tourism/economic development and funding experts from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. The summit’s keynoter will feature Florida’s former Commissioner on Tourism, Tom Waits at 8:30AM today, but maybe temporarily delayed due to the weather.
Additionally, the University of Georgia will present spectacular findings from their most recent ACF River Corridor Study, “Project RiverWay”, an exploratory trip including Donalsonville/Lake Seminole.
Friday’s March 11 agenda will look at the upcoming year for RiverWay South and where the groups associations with tourism will take them and conclude around 1:00PM.
The stated purpose of RiverWay South is to preserve, protect, and promote the unique heritage of communities within the Apalachicola, Chattahoochee, and Flint (ACF) watershed.
The ACF watershed is a priceless treasure and all interested citizens should be involved. Input is needed from everyone and especially those who have a stake in the continued success of their community.
Therefore, take advantage of this great opportunity to join over 60 counties and their representatives as they explore more ways to connect our communities using the Apalachicola, Chattahoochee, Flint River system as a transportation route.
