Relay for Life "Paint the Town Purple" Celebrated in Apalachicola

Kudos to city staffers for leading by example in showing the city’s support of the sponsored Franklin County Relay for Life "Paint the Town Purple" campaign by adorning the palm trees and bench in front of city hall with purple ribbon.

Today marked the beginning of "Paint the Town Purple" throughout the City of Apalachicola and by way of a Mayoral Proclamation issued on May 7, 2013, local businesses and residents are encouraged to participate by decorating their store fronts, yards, and fences in purple as a show of support in the fight back against cancer.

The campaign is slated to run from today - June 2, and culminate with a "Carnival for a Cure" at Riverfront Park in downtown Apalachicola starting at 12:00PM on June 1 – 6:00AM June 2.
