Franklin County School Safe for Students Return

On March 30, 2015 the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received notice that a bomb threat had been discovered at the Franklin County K-12 School in Eastpoint. After Sheriff Mock discussing the validity of the threat with Superintendent Marks and Principle Bray, it was jointly decided that school should recess early to assure the safety of students and staff. A thorough search of the campus was conducted with the assistance of K-9 officers from Bay County Sheriff’s Office and Capital City Police. No explosive devices were discovered on campus during the search and the initial investigation suggests the threat was not credible. While the investigation of who is responsible for the threat will continue, there is no reason to believe the student’s safety is at risk. Franklin County School will return to its normal schedule on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
