Duke Energy Postpones Tree Trimming Project in City

Originally scheduled to beginning the week of February 23, Duke Energy has postponed its tree trimming project within the city due to eagle nesting season and an emergency  transmission line repair project in Apalachicola Bay. Officials say they plan to reschedule the project sometime after May 16.

In preparation of the Duke Energy trimming project and in the interest of preserving unique and historic trees, city officials identified and tagged with yellow ribbons approximately 100 trees that City officials have requested be given special attention. When it begins later this spring, the Duke Energy Tree Trimming project is expected to last several weeks with teams of three to four trucks working the area four days a week.
