The Florida Youth Commission is seeking applications


If you have a child or know of a child between the ages of 13 and 18 that attends a Florida high school, college or university with at least a 2.0 GPA and that lives in the State of Florida. The child may be eligible to apply for a seat on the Florida Youth Commission (FYC).

The Florida Youth Commission is comprised of youth across the state and acts as an advisory group to the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet. The objective of the Florida Youth Commission is to unite youth across the state in order to identify key issues facing Florida’s next generation. The Florida Youth Commission aspires to not only connect Florida’s youth, but also to guide and cultivate our future leaders.

The application period opened March 3 and will close May 9, 2014. The FYC is operated and facilitated by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and they are vigorously seeking a diverse pool of applicants to choose from.
