Due to the failure of the commercial oyster industry Franklin County Oysterman are now eligible to apply for low interest loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration's Economic Injury Disaster Declaration for the State of Florida.
Completed loan applications can be submitted up to July 31, 2014, to the U.S. Small Business Administration Processing and Disbursement Center at 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155 or at other locally announced locations.
The interest rate for businesses and small agricultural cooperatives without credit available elsewhere is 4.000% and for non-profit organizations also without credit available elsewhere is 3.000%. The number assigned to the disaster for economic injury is 13804.
