The
Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) will
be hosting a series of workshops on Competitive Florida, a technical assistance program under
development to help communities take
steps to increase their level of competitiveness through asset-based economic
development while staying true to what makes them unique places.
Such unique
communities like the Historic City of Apalachicola, which already has a
competitive edge in the value of its world renowned seafood, its pristine ecosystem
and historical structures.
At the
workshop DEO officials will share details about the new program, but most importantly
they will be amenable to receiving input from the communities to make certain the program is developed in a way that addresses
the needs of the communities.
