10th Annual African-American History Festival

The Hillside Coalition Of Laborers for Apalachicola, Inc., (H'COLA) is gearing up for the celebration of its 10th Annual African-American History Festival this Fri-Sun at the Franklin Square Recreation Park off 6th Street in Apalachicola.

This annual three-day event is promising to be full of fun for the entire family to enjoy, which will feature a multitude of activity and events. Both the locals and out-of-towners will setup and operate vendor booths displaying a variety of offerings, such as public service materials, educational information, arts and crafts and lots of food of all types.

Also featured will be live musical entertainment, motivational speakers, cultural awareness and other family-style activities throughout the course of the festival.

"The festival has grown every year, attracting people in and around Franklin County, as well as other areas of Florida and beyond. This year, despite the cold weather forecast, H’COLA looks forward to another great year." Said Elinor Mount-Simmions, President of H'COLA.
