Chipley –At the direction of the Florida State Emergency Operations Center, tolls will be suspended on the Garcon Point Bridge in Santa Rosa County at 8 a.m., EDT, Monday, August 27 to aid in evacuation efforts. Tolls will remain suspended until further notice.
While tolls are suspended, SunPass® customers may hear their transponders beep as they travel under the all electronic tolling gantries, but their accounts will not be charged.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution and adhere to all posted traffic signs. Motorists who experience vehicle problems must move those vehicles onto the roadway shoulder, as far from the travel lane as possible. Florida Highway Patrol may be reached by dialing *FHP or *911 from a cellular telephone.
Pay careful attention to overhead message signs.
