Early voting starts today

Early voting begins today Monday, August 9 through Saturday, August 21, for the 2010 primary election in which Federal, State and county candidates are seeking election to various offices.

Those wishing to avoid the lines at the polls on Tuesday, August 24, Election Day can vote early at the following two locations within Franklin County.

From 8:30AM through 4:30PM at the Supervisor of Elections office - 47 Avenue E – Apalachicola and at the Courthouse Annex – 1647 Hwy 98 – Carrabelle.

When going in to vote early you will need to take with you a valid photo identification card and a signature identification card. If you have no such identification, you may vote a provisional ballot.

The following offices will appear on the August 24, primary ballot:

- United States Senator
- United States Representative, District 2
- Governor and Lieutenant Governor
- Attorney General
- State Senator, District 6
- County Commissioners, District 4
- School Board, District 2
- Soil & Water Conservation District
- Judicial Retention (Nonpartisan)
Justice of the Supreme Court (only those whose terms expire in 01/2011)Judge, District Court of Appeal (only those whose terms expire in 01/2011)
- Circuit Judges (Nonpartisan)
Only those whose terms expire 01/2011
- Circuit 2 Group 5
- Circuit 2 Group 9
- Circuit 2 Group 11
- Circuit 2 Group 15
- County Court Judges (Nonpartisan)
Only those whose terms expire 01/2011
