The city of Apalachicola has added to its property inventory with the purchase of the old Family Dollar Store located at the corner of Avenue E and 10th Street. The building will now be adapted to become the new home of our Fire and Police Departments and serve as an Emergency Operations Center during storm events.
The City utilized a Grant/Loan totaling $500,000, to purchase the building, the grant was provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development and the loan through Gulf State Community Bank. The building was appraised at $522,000.
