On this solemn day, the Apalachicola Board of City Commissioners and its staff honor the sacrifice of the men and women both past and present who have unselfishly and so gallantly served in the armed forces of this great nation and fought to preserve and advance its causes of liberty and justice.
We are eternally grateful and will never forget the supreme price you have paid to defend and secure our freedom. May the ever loving grace of Christ forever rest and abide within each of you and in the end may you find rest from conflict in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
In observance of this national holiday, all city offices and departments, excluding Police and Fire Protection will be closed all day today and reopened tomorrow as scheduled for business.
