Apalach Independence Day Celebration a Huge Success

Thank you sponsors!
Hats off to the Historic Apalachicola Main Street Committee for pulling off under the threat of rain and severe weather yesterday’s spectacular Independence Day extravaganza at beautiful Riverfront Park.

This great group of civic minded folks moved forward despite weather conditions with a fun filled parade of bicycles and decorated golf carts, an ice cream social provide by the Piggly Wiggly, a live band including the community gospel choir singing patriotic music led by Bishop Horace Solomon, Pastor of New Life Church, all culminated with an astonishing fireworks show all to the delight of a large enthusiastic crowd of onlookers gathered to take in the events of the day and by all accounts it was a huge success and a perfect way for any community to celebrate the birth of America.

This public, private collaboration between the Historic Apalachicola Main Street Committee, its many sponsors and the city of Apalachicola is a prime example of what good can happen within a community when all work together toward the common good.

You can show your appreciation by patronizing the businesses whose generous support made the event possible and certainly contributed to its overall success.
