Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday

Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 2:00 AM EST.

Benjamin Franklin introduced the idea of DST in 1784; however, it wasn't until 1895 when George Vernon Hudson proposed the modern idea of daylight saving, which was later implemented during World War I.

The practice has its pros and cons.

Proponents of DST believe that by adding daylight to evenings, benefits retailing, sports, and other activities that exploit sunlight after working hours, while others see it as causing problems for evening entertainment and other occupations tied to the sun.

Anyway, don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour and change out those old smoke detector batteries with fresh new ones.
