Jazz & Wine Festival to benefit Seafood Workers

The Franklin County community is gearing up to host a four day Jazz & Wine Festival in historic Apalachicola to benefit displaced Seafood Workers affected by the challenges currently affecting Apalachicola Bay.

It was recently discovered that the winter harvesting areas in Apalachicola Bay are yielding a bad crop of oysters, which appear to be dying off due to what is widely believed to be inadequate flows of freshwater coming down the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River System.  These conditions in the bay have placed hundreds of local, hard working, and proud Seafood Workers out of work and in need of assistance.  

The benefit festival will kick off with a great sample of wines and smooth jazz on Thurs, Sept 27 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on the Veranda, at Veranda's Bistro and Wine Bar and will resume at the same time on Fri, Sept 28, at Tamara's Tapas Bar for Tapas and more jazz.

The Sat, Sept 29 event will feature three Jazz groups and a wine tasting from 3:00PM to 10:00PM in one of the most beautiful settings in the world - the dock at Riverfront Park and will conclude Sun, Sept 30 back at Veranda's Bistro and Wine Bar from11:00PM to 2:00PM for brunch and jazz.

All proceeds and donations will go to support Bay Aid Franklin, Franklin County's Disaster Relief Fund.  Donations to this cause are tax exempted through the Franklin's Promise Coalition, a 501(c) 3 organization.
