Today May 3, 2010, Governor Charlie Crist’s extended his declaration of a State of Emergency to the coastal counties of Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson, Taylor, Dixie, Levy, Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota due to the Deepwater Horizon Incident.
"As the oil continues to spill from the well and all efforts to stop the discharge have failed and may not succeed for an extended period of timne, more Florida counties could be affected." Crist said.
The emergency designation should bring with it state and/or federal resources.
